Alexander Reuter
Hello!
My name is Alexander, I’m 26 years old and live in Malmö. I’m currently a game programmer student at Futuregames, who’s really passionate about gameplay and AI.
I’m a positive minded and humble person who listens well and is always eager to learn and grow. I enjoy tackling logical problems as well as coming up with new ideas. Something that I really value is good communication and a positive team culture. I’ve seen how a strong, supportive culture can drive a team to deliver their best work.
Before I got into my game programming journey I got a bachelor's degree in real estate management and also worked with rent negotiations at Hyresgästföreningen for about two years. However, I quickly realized that the real estate industry was not what I wanted to continue with in the long run, and therefore decided to pursue my true passion, programming and video games.
Despite the real estate not being what I expected I'm still extremely happy for the experience. It got me used to handling stressful situations and navigating a professional environment. The experience made me comfortable working in teams, as well as managing and understanding different perspectives and needs.
I also learned the importance of staying calm and focused when unexpected hurdles appeared. These situations reinforced the value of clear communication and a positive work culture, both of which I believe are crucial to success in any industry.
The skills I gained in real estate have been invaluable. The ability to handle challenging environments, work collaboratively with others, and maintain a strong sense of responsibility, have all been incredibly helpful in game development so far.
Other than programming and making games, I especially enjoy playing video games, badminton, hanging out with my friends, as well as traveling and experiencing new cultures (especially food). I also really love dogs and cats!
